Your Support is Vital

Caring for our terminally ill neighbors is both a profound privilege and responsibility. We proudly provide our care at no cost to residents and their families, relying entirely on the generosity of our community. Your support is crucial to our mission, ensuring that financial concerns never interfere with receiving compassionate end-of-life care.

All financial support for the House comes from donations, memorials, bequests, grants, individuals, businesses, service organizations, local churches, United Way, SEFA and fund-raising events. We do not receive insurance reimbursement, State or Federal aid.

Because of you, no family ever receives a bill from Teresa House. Thank you for your unwavering support!

How You Can Help

VOLUNTEERS: The greatest gift of all is that of self. Our volunteers give countless precious hours as caregivers, as staff, as board members, and as committee members, who raise funds, write grants and newsletters, do maintenance, and share their expertise whenever needed. The average commitment for a volunteer is four hours weekly.

WALKWAY BRICK: Donate a Brick to our Walkway using our secure online giving platform.

MEMORIALS: Some of our money comes from gifts given in memory of loved ones or friends. Most of our residents or their families choose to give all or a portion of their memorial gifts to Teresa House to help us to provide care to our future residents. Many in the community choose to give memorials for those who are not cared for at Teresa House when appropriate, knowing what a valuable gift this home is to our community.

IN-KIND STOCK GIFTS: Donate appreciated stock to Teresa House to avoid capital gains taxes.

MATCHING FUNDS: If an employer offers to match an employee’s charitable contribution, please let them know about your gift to us.

EARLY RETIREMENT GIVING: For 59½ or older—make a gift (penalty free) from your IRA or 401k.

QUALIFIED CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTION (QCD): For 70½ or older—make a QCD from your IRA up to $108,000.

WILLS/ENDOWMENTS/LEGACY PROGRAMS: We believe that the future of Teresa House will rely on the wisdom of those who have the vision to provide us with long term financial security by designating larger gifts through yearly pledges, wills, annuities and planned giving. Consult your financial planner to explore ways you can help sustain Teresa House through estate and planned giving.

UNITED WAY #169: Teresa House is approved as a Donor Option Agency for Livingston County.

SEFA (State Employees Federated Appeal) #66-00455: Teresa House is approved as a Donor Option for the annual SEFA campaigns.
